How significant is web design to sales of any business? As significant as they get! Take my word for it; a website is literally a poster for your business. And with the world becoming more and more digitized by the minute, it gets so important to treat web design with the value it deserves. If not say bye-bye to any future business prospects you may have. It’s literally the norm now that 1 in every 15 people is not on the internet…which means a bigger percentage of the world is on there now and every day. This means wise people are taking advantage of this fact to use the internet to make their businesses as big as they desire. As far as I know it has worked really well so far and I highly doubt it’s going to come to a halt any time soon.
So how are people supposed to know about your merchandise without a website? Exactly! Glad you can answer these questions yourself. Makes my job easier. Web development basically has everything to do with websites. A website has to sell your brand the way you hope for it to; captivating customers is the goal here in case you forgot! A good first impression is vital as heck in this field. And as far as I know a website is a synonym of a first impression.
You KENNAT allow the risk of having a negative first impression with whatever audience visits your website because as we all know, first impressions tick. Believe me when I say it’s not hyperbole when I say website design highly affects your sales. According to an article on WebFX, 75% of opinions on website credibility come from web design, 89% of people shop with a competitor after a poor user experience and 38% of people stop engaging with a website if it’s unattractive.
Boy oh boy, if that doesn’t show you how vital web design is to sales then I really don’t know what will. The idea is to have a website that gives your business high credibility through it being updated and as attractive as possible. If your website is clean and polished, up to date and visually appealing to your target market, best believe that is increasing your company sales by a mile and a half (I don’t even know where this ‘mile and a half’ reference came from but I think it’s something to do with me having a great mind.)
I know you want to see what more amazing knowledge can come from this great mind so I’ll just go ahead and let you know how you can elevate your sales by taking advantage of the best parts of web design.
It’s human nature to want attractive and appealing things. You don’t need scientists at Harvard to tell you that. It’s even more typical human nature to love to look at anything visually appealing. Like I said before, a website is literally a poster for any business and if that poster isn’t captivating enough, then you can kiss those sales and potential customers by-bye.
Use visuals that are alluring, take advantage of info graphics that are as fascinating as can be. I can’t think of a better way to engage your audience than this. There is also the possibility of your visuals adding pop to the website but them not being high quality. Ummm…pardon me but what a turn off! We’re in an ever developing time and if what you present for your company isn’t as updated as the target market, there’s really a serious problem. You want to engage your customers but how do you expect to do that if you’re not as informed and up to date as them?
There are people like me that can’t stand monotony and dull ways, worse if they’re repeated over and over again. That goes with me saying I’m sorry for any hint of monotony you might have picked from me through these articles, I don’t want to be hypocritical. I’ve seen a multitude of CTAs and the phrase “Click here” is really getting old fast.
Let’s say (actually it has happened before, so really) a potential buyer has visited your site and is actually impressed by whatever you have on there. They want to work with you or purchase your products and so they go looking for a way to get what they came looking for; perhaps they want to communicate with you or just want to add an item to a cart of theirs. They go looking for the CTA button and worst case scenario is they are so not impressed by it, let alone moved to even make any action in regards to what they came to do. And just like that, they leave and go support your competitor.
I know I might sound ridiculous right now but believe me there are people that are picky and super sensitive with what they want. Just don’t think too much about it because it really does make sense and for all you know that group of people could be your biggest supporters. So you don’t want to take any chances.
The trick is to make a descriptive CTA and one that is quite wonderful plus easy to find. Hiding your CTA and trying to be all cryptic will make you lose customers like nothing you’ve seen before; lest you forget we’re in an alarmingly impatient generation.
Another tip for you is to create CTAs that pop off on the website. Aside from being exciting, it also probably makes the audience itch to tap it, nah I’m kidding. I’m not sure that’s accurate but what I do know is you easily reach the audience and they easily reach you, you’re practically asking them in their faces to buy your product.
Must I repeat the well-known fact we belong to the generation of the impatients? By now it must be a song with how much I’ve mentioned it (that’s the tired African mum in me speaking). So yes, my lovely reader, a slow-loading website can make you lose a great deal of market.
You don’t even want to know how much money is lost annually due to slow loading sites, but I’m just going to go ahead and tell you anyway; $2.6 billion! I know…let me give you some time to get your jaw off the floor and catch your breath because WOW! If you thought this generation and its impatience won’t cost you, think again cupcake.
Rest assured that if your website doesn’t load in under 2 seconds those are lost sales and it’s going to be hard to regain them. And I know no one wants that for any business, that’s barely in your business plan. I don’t know how you’re going to do it (actually I do, I just want you to beg for that information) but whatever you do, find a way to speed up your site’s current load time.
Maximize Google and take its suggestions on how to enhance the speed for your website to keep people hooked. Do take time and use page speed services from a credible digital marketing company to help you improve the site’s loading speed, and maybe overall your site’s design.
Dears we all know these can’t be the only ways to use web design to improve sales. Of course I’m trying to use my mojo of giving you less to attract you to come later for more. I’m really not certain it’s working but until I get another way, this is what we shall stick with and cross my fingers it works.
